For me cakes are very much produced with love. When I made my first birthday cake for my son (a cow!) I was just hoping it would vaguely resemble some kind of animal! It took on a life of its own and the creative side of me popped out!
People have asked me to do all manner of different cakes from Mr Funny to a pair of boobs (with a bra on of course!). Many are from a flat picture, most are from my imagination, all of them have been, and continue to be, a joy to make and I can’t wait for each new challenge.
My favourite so far was a butterfly with suspended wings. It took 6 hours to decorate but was worth every second for the effect it had on the recipient and the pleasure it gave me!
